VAS are activated by drivers that are travelling too fast for the road conditions ahead. Directly targeting the speeding (at risk) driver helps to avoid accidents and reduce speeds at high risk areas, by raising awareness.
Signs remain blank when not required, and can be radar or timer activated, or a combination of both.
